How Handicaps Work for the Winter League (SGT)
Handicaps for the Winter League will be handled entirely through SGT and will be based only on Winter League rounds (10 total weeks).
- For handicap purposes, the highest score that can count on any hole is a double bogey
- Each round is adjusted based on course difficulty, allowing scores to be compared fairly
- Since the league is only 10 rounds, only your best rounds are used to calculate handicaps:
- Weeks 1–5: Best 1 round
- Weeks 6–8: Average of Best 2 rounds
- Weeks 9–10: Average of Best 3 rounds
- Handicaps update automatically each week and become more accurate as the season progresses
This system ensures fair competition and prevents one bad round from significantly impacting your handicap.
League Scoring & Points (GSPro / SGT)
Each week of league play, teams are ranked within their flight based on their net score for that week’s 9-hole round.
How Weekly Points Are Earned
- After all teams in a flight complete their weekly round, teams are ranked by finishing position

- Weekly points are automatically tracked in SGT
- Total points after 10 weeks determine playoff seeding
Playoffs (Sunday, March 22nd)
- At the end of the 10-week season, the top 6 teams in each flight advance to the playoffs.
- Playoffs will follow a 6-team bracket, with the 1st and 2nd seeds receiving a first-round bye.
Schedule
- 10:00AM – 3 Seed vs 6 Seed
- 10:45AM – 4 Seed vs 5 Seed
- 11:30AM – 2 Seed vs Winner of 3 & 6
- 12:15PM – 1 Seed vs Winner of 4 & 5
- 1:00PM – Championship Match
Match Format
- Each match is a 3-hole stroke-play scramble.
- Handicaps apply: Each team will receive 1/6 of their handicap for the 3-holes match. All handicaps will be rounded down (closer to zero)
- Example: A 1 Seed with a 6 handicap plays as a 1 handicap. A 4 Seed with a 12 handicap plays as a 2 handicap. The 4 Seed would receive 1 shots against the 1 Seed in that match.
- Ties: If a match is tied after 3 holes, play continues in a sudden death starting at the 1st hole of the 3-holes rotation.
Seeding Tie-Breaker
- All seeding ties will be broken using the highest score in the final round of the league season.
